PODIATRY COMES TO LA PAZ

David Zarkou, D.P.M., is moving to La Paz County as our first full-time podia¬trist. Starting in August, he will be located in Parker at the Parker Professional Building on Kofa Ave., and offer weekly services in Quartzsite at La Paz Medical Services Clinic and bimonthly services in Salome at the TriValley Medical Center.
With family in Arizona and California, he and his wife, with, in his words, "four beautiful daughters and an infant son," found Parker the perfect location to settle after completing his residency in Youngstown, Ohio. He and his family moved to Parker in July and he looks forward to opening his practice in August.

In addition to routine foot and ankle care, Dr. Zarkou studies included emphasis on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, trauma, diabetic wound care and limb salvage, and pediatric foot and ankle issues. "One of the unique characteristics of my training is the amount of time and experience I get preventing and treating wounds, primarily diabetic foot wounds," he said.

A real plus in bringing Dr. Zarkou here is that he can speak and read Spanish flu¬ently. In addition to his passion for his work, his family is his passion, along with read¬ing, fly-fishing, hiking, and playing basketball (he is VERY tall!), baseball, soccer and football. Local teams would do well to have him as team doctor, player, or coach!

Beginning August 4, 2014, Dr. Zarkou will have office hours in Parker at 1713 Kofa Ave., Suite K, across from Parker Family Practice. He will have office hours in Quartzsite, at La Paz Medical Services, 150 E. Tyson Road, every Friday; and in Salome at TriValley Medical Center, 39726 Harquahala Road, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. To make an appointment, call (928) 669-3033.
